Matthew Pendrak,, Principal

Mr. Matt Pendrak has been the Principal of Los Lunas Elementary School since June of 2023, previously being the Assistant Principal starting in 2022, under former Principal, and current LLHS Principal, Eric Tiger.

Mr. Pendrak spent 21 years as a music teacher in New York State, and moved to New Mexico in June of 2022. Under Mr. Pendrak's leadership, Los Lunas Elementary has grown from 390 students to over 460 students, and boasts strong community connections with events such as Fall Fest, STEAM Night, Turkey Bingo, Courtyard of Lights, Family Dance, and a new Field Day format. 

Originally from the small town of Ilion, NY, Mr. Pendrak has a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Fredonia, in Fredonia, NY, a Masters Degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Masters Degree from the University of Kansas in Educational Leadership and Administration. 


 Adrianna Avent has been the Assistant Principal with LLE since November 2024. Previously, she taught science and health at   Century High School. Her journey in the educational system started at Los Lunas Middle School as a 7th grade science teacher. Beyond academics, she also was the head coach for the Los Lunas Middle School track and field team from 2019-2023, and was awarded Middle School Head Coach of the year for the 2019 and 2023 seasons. 

A proud, lifelong resident of Los Lunas and 2008 Los Lunas High School Graduate; she can typically be seen all over the Village, actively participating in many different community events, coaching rec basketball, and leading a Girl Scout Troop. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of New Mexico and has a Master’s Degree from the University of New Mexico - School of Anderson in Educational Leadership. She is proud to be a part of the LLE community.  Her proudest achievement is her three wonderful children, her amazing husband, and her supportive family.


Assistant Principal

Ms. Cassandra Johnson has been an educator with Los Lunas Schools since 1999.  She has been the Assistant Principal at LLE since November of 2023.  Prior to moving into an administrator role, she taught social studies at Los Lunas Middle School, Valencia High School, and Century High School.  Before moving to New Mexico, she taught a year of social studies in Orange County, California, where she is originally from.

Ms. Johnson has a Bachelor's Degree in History from Scripps College (Claremont, CA), a Teaching Credential from Concordia University (Irvine, CA), and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Eastern New Mexico University.  Her two grown children are products of Los Lunas Schools and she is proud to have served the district for almost all of her career in education.
