Congratulations to our Certified and Classified Employees of the Month for November!

 

Ms. Alicia Carabajal

Ms. Alicia Carabajal is one of our LLE DDPreK teachers. She has worked for LLE in this capacity for the past 6 years and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Special Education. Here are what some of our staff has said about Ms. Alicia:

  • Alicia is an amazing teacher! She works so well with not only her students, but all students! She is a huge asset to her team and always willing to help in any way she can.
  • Miss Alicia very helpful!
  • Miss Alicia has been one of the Pre-K teachers who have been very helpful with our children. She doesn't hesitate to assist calming a child, getting their needs met, and offering advice to us. Of course the entire Pre-K staff is always helpful and the team looks out for each other and our all of our children. We are thankful to everyone who has come to help in these early months of the school year. I can't recognize each one in this post but Miss Alicia gets applause in this month.
  • Miss Alicia is one of those people who is an unsung hero at LLE. In the short time that she has worked here, she has shown herself to be someone to takes initiative and works to make her classroom and everyone around her meter.  She started the PreK PLC and is currently pursuing her Doctorate. We are so lucky to have her at LLE and I would never want to lose her to another school!

Mrs. Rachel Hicks

Mrs. Hicks has been teaching 6th Grade at LLE for the past 15 years. She has also started the LLE Science Fair as well as ran two craft fairs this past fall. Here are what some of our staff have said about Mrs. Hicks:

  • Rachel has worked to ensure that the students are exposed to more than just math and reading. She has set up this year's science fair and worked to make sure that the students understand the scientific process. She has given her time after school both with students and fundraising efforts. In addition to the science fair, Rachel has consistently been a school leader. She is on the guiding coalition. She advocates for students. She steps up as leader during bus duty whenever needed. Rachel truly cares for the well-being of students and it shows.
  • LLE’s first annual Craft Fair was a resounding success! Huge thanks to Rachel for organizing such a fantastic event. It was a wonderful way to unite the community, and even more exciting is that our students are set to have an unforgettable Science Fair thanks to this effort. The day seemingly went smooth, and it was heartwarming to see everyone enjoying themselves as we walked around!
  • Rachel has taken the lead for Science Fair and run with it. She not only planned it (with help, I’m sure) but also fund raised for it.
  • Rachel is a wonderful and dedicated 6th grade teacher. This year she has taken up the task of bringing back the Science Fair to LLE. She also planned out and gathered over 50 vendors for LLE's Craft fair in November. Rachel is very well organized and is always ready to help in any way possible.

 

 

Ofc. Frank Muñoz

Ofc. Frank Muñoz is our LLE Campus Security Officer. Officer Frank has extensive experience as a police officer in the Los Lunas Police Department and Albuquerque Police Department. He always is on the lookout in keeping our campus safe, and building amazing relationships with our staff and students. Here are what some of our LLE Staff have said about Ofc. Frank:

  • He is stepping it up for us when we are without a full time SRO.
  • Such a friendly guy!
  • He is dedicated and attentive to the needs of the children. Keeping the outside restrooms ready and consistently interacting with the children making a positive impact on their lives.
  • I see and so appreciate our Ofcr Frank’s willingness to interact with students who need support with maintaining SEL boundaries while still helping them feel safe. He responds quickly and positively during student drop off and pick up when teachers and staff express concerns about student safety or driver condition- not an easy task given how some adults respond. He always has a smile and a friendly greeting for anyone.
  • Frank Munoz has built relationships with the students from LLE. He plays with them at recess and is a great role model for our students.
  • Officer Frank on campus is a welcome site. Students call out to him all the time and it's encouraging, as a staff member, that we have someone like Mr. Munoz to ensure our safety and the safety of the school.
  • Officer Frank is always present and visible not only making our students and staff feel safe but also facilitating a positive and caring environment with his contagious smile and positive relationships with the kids.
  • Frank is always positive and kind as he performs his many tasks on campus. He interacts well with the kids on campus. It is nice to have another positive role male role model for the kids.
  • Officer Frank has developed such a great rapport with our students. He does all he can to keep our campus safe and secure. Is does a great job being observant and vigilant and I feel safer with him on campus. He is very friendly and always helpful!

Mrs. Allison Spurlock

Mrs. Allison Spurlock is one of our LLE DDPreK teachers. She has strong experience in Education having not only been a PreK teacher, but also an Inclusion Support Coach!  She has a Masters Degree in Autism Spectrum Disorder and provides Professional Development to our staff at LLE and throughout Los Lunas Schools. Here are what some of our staff has said about Mrs. Spurlock:

  • Allison is always so very positive. Her energy is infectious! As a part of the sunshine committee, she has planned opportunities for staff to get together. She works with students who have significant needs but still finds time to provide district trainings and help other staff members.
  • Super motivating
  • I don’t think we’ve ever had a social (Sunshine) committee that was so visible and active at LLE, offering a variety of types and locations of fun and socializing, and uplifting encouragement. Allison Spurlock presents a cheerful face and positive interactions to all she encounters. She’s a wonderful addition to our staff and I’m delighted that she joined our LLE team.
  • Allison reminds us to stay positive. She is a ray of sunshine at LLE!
  • Ally goes above and beyond for our staff with her constant positive attitude and helping with the Sunshine Committee. She is selfless, kind, positive and an asset to our mental health as a staff community.
  • She is sweet, kind, caring, goes above and beyond for her staff and her students! Has brought Sunshine to our staff!!
  • Allison and her team have really made the staff feel like part of a team/family with all the events that her and her team have put together for us. I like her motivational emails.
  • Alison helps cheer everyone up. She is kind and patient. Alison’s knowledge has helped not only her own students but others within our school. 
  • She is just an excellent teacher, very friendly, and she loves her students. 
  • Allison is a perfect example of remaining patient and kind in difficult circumstances. She has a gift for including all people and making them feel important and understood. 
  • She is always positive! I love her attitude. She is great with her students and all the other students and employees in this building!

Ms. Rebecca Leon

Ms. Rebecca Leon is our LLE Librarian. She works very hard putting on our Book Fair twice a year, and is also an active member of our LLE PTC. Here are what some of our LLE Staff have said about Ms. Leon, or "Miss Rebecca" as she is known as by the students:

  • Miss Rebecca is ready to help with all lunch duties always willing to help others.
  • Rebecca always shows up for the students with a warm can-do attitude! 
  • I know how much work goes into hosting a book fair and still having pull-outs. Thanks for your hard work during Book Fair and thanks for the classroom books you bought for us and our class.
  • Rebecca handled the book fair for two weeks. She makes all the students feel that the library is a safe place for them.
  • She is always so nice & sweet! She is always positive with the students!

Ms. Abbi Sanchez

Ms. Sanchez is one of our outstanding Special Education Teachers and one of our newest Staff Members! She continually works hard to ensure that all of our Grade 3 and 4 Special Education students get a top notch education, as well as helping those students know that they are welcomed and loved when in her classroom. Here are what some of our LLE Staff have said about Ms. Sanchez or "Ms. Abbi" as she is also known:

  • Ms. Abbi works so hard with the kids that we share and is so helpful when it comes to working together!
  • Ms. Abbi has done such an amazing job with the students even though she came into the year late. She has done a wonderful job adjusting especially with the behaviors. She is all around such a great teacher.
  • Ms. Abbi shows each of her students that she cares for them, they all have positive words to say about her. She works hard inside and outside of school to ensure that each student is getting what they need from her (emotionally/academically).
  • I feel that she has gone above helping out these students to get them where they should be. She is loving, caring, and an awesome teacher.
  • Ms. Sanchez goes above and beyond for ALL the students of LLE. She not only supports students assigned to her, but anyone who can use your expertise. I am so happy to be working at a school with Mrs. Sanchez in it!
  • Ms. Abbi has worked hard to make her classroom inviting and calming for her students. She is doing an excellent job teaching some of our most lively students. She makes LLE a better place to be for many of our students.
  • Ms. Abbi is a beautiful person and her place is here at LLE.

 

Mrs. Silvia Trujillo

Mrs. Trujillo, or Ms. Silvia as she is also known as, brings wonderful qualities to our staff at LLE.  Students are her first priority and she does all that she can to make sure that the students in her classroom feel cared for.  She is an exceptional Educational Assistant in our DD PreK program and has worked in Los Lunas Elementary School for several years, and has served in the LLE PTC.  Here are some things that LLE Staff have said about Ms. Silvia:

  • Ms. Silvia is always so positive and ever present in her roles on campus. I am so grateful for her participation in PTC and all the wonderful extras she works hard to provide our staff and students with
  • I always see Ms. Silvia ensuring our T-shirts for kids or other activities are getting done! She is always doing amazing things to help with student morale at the school and I do not even think the students know how much she does for them :)
  • Ms. Silvia goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is included. She is always very friendly and is very giving as well. Highly recommend her for employee of the month
  • Ms. Silvia is always positive and cheerful every morning, she includes all staff members in luncheons, t-shirts, etc. She cares for students that are no longer in the PreK program as they all come up to her to say hi every chance they get. She is not only a team player for the PreK team but for the entire LLE team
  • Ms. Silvia is a very giving person and willing to help anyone in need
  • She is just an excellent teacher, very friendly, and she is on top of everything with the PTC
  • Ms. Silvia contributes to LLE so much via PTC. She advocates for staff and students. She makes sure teachers voices are heard at the PTC meetings. She is beyond generous with her own resources and time. So much of what gets done behind the scenes is due to Silvia

 

Congratulations to our Certified and Classified Employees of the Month for August!

Mrs. Angelina Muncy

Mrs. Muncy is one of our outstanding Special Education Teachers, working with our K-2 students.  She comes to us with wealth of knowledge as a teacher in Rio Rancho, Alamogordo, as well as being a diagnostician for Albuquerque Public Schools. She serves on our Guiding Coalition, and provides PD to our staff on Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as accommodations and Modifications for the General Education classroom. Here are what some of our LLE Staff have said about Mrs. Muncy:

  • Mrs. Muncy has put a lot of effort and time creating a daily schedule that works well for her students. She has made herself available to staff to help support them in developing strategies and supports to help ALL students be successful. She put her heart and time into creating presentations for staff to help them better understand working with students with autism, negative behaviors, and other disabilities. She is a wonderful wealth of knowledge and asset to LLE!
  • Mrs. Muncy has gone out of her way to make sure that I AND MR. G had what we need to teach SpEd 3/4
  • Great start to the new school year with 2 staff trainings and implementing schedules for all 3 SpEd classes at the beginning of the school year. She really shows that she has a vested interest in not only her students but all students at LLE!
  • Mrs. Muncy goes above beyond for her students and to assist teachers and staff at LLE.

 

Mrs. Rosetta Lueras 

Mrs. Lueras, or Ms. Rosetta as she is also known as, is one our most experienced Educational Assistants. She has worked at LLE for over 18 years, and has served in every kind of educational assistant role. Currently she is one of our 1:1 EA's as well as a SPED Classroom Assistant. She also is in charge of afternoon bus duty and does an amazing job coordinating all of the busses and Day Care vans. Here are some things that LLE Staff have said about Ms. Rosetta:

  • She leads the bus/daycare dismissal without complaints or negativity. She sees that everyone gets where they need to go. Tries new things to help with promptness and safety. She is concerned with our input and thoughts to make sure the team work well together.
  • She always has a positive attitude and is willing to do whatever needs to be done to support students
  • Ms. Rosetta develops great relationships with kids.
  • Ms. Rosetta is always willing to help out and is a rock star on bus duty!

 

Mr. Josiah Garcia 

Mr. Garcia is the newest member of our LLE Staff.  He is one of our Contract Substitutes and began the year as our Grades 3/4 SPED teacher.  He set up the room, got all the students' schedules set, and began teaching them in preparation for another staff member to come in and take over. He is ready and willing to help out wherever needed including morning/afternoon duty as well as lunch duty.  Here are some things that LLE Staff have said about Mr. Garcia:

  • He stepped in to help with the 3/4 SPED room when school started, helped these students transition to a new environment and continues to help the students in different ways all around campus. Students love him and get so excited to say Hi to him.
  • Mr. Garcia is always going above and beyond in his classroom management for SpEd 3/4
  • Mr. Garcia put together that sped room and did an amazing job stepping up!
  • Mr. Garcia went above and beyond the call of duty when he took his own time and got the classroom ready for the new teacher. He took that class and did his best to teach until the certified teacher could start. He has also stepped in whenever and wherever he was needed.
